Stone Talismans

The stone talismans offered here were created according to Valerie Worth and her book:  "Crone's Book of Charms & Spells".  At the present time, there are five different types of talismans available and more may be added as time allows.

The talismans you see above are nestled in my rock garden in a bed of artemisia absintheum (wormwood).  On the front of these stones are the symbols designed for specific purposes and on the back are inscriptions in the ancient tongue.

As Valerie so eloquently states: 

"As words embrace all things, seen and unseen, so these inscriptions hold within their bounds the essences of what they name.  What is invoked exists within its invocation; what is set down is brought to bear on all it touches and on all that surrounds it.

Do not discount the power of such words, or of the signs and images that well attend them..."

These talismans are created on natural river rocks and no two will be alike. 

  Stone Talisman #1

"To Invoke the Powers of the Sun and Moon"

Upon one face, the crescent Moon, extended to form a circle, and this cirle rayed doubly with flames and swordlike points, Upon the reverse, these words:

"Aurum soliferum

Argentum luniferum

Nunc huc ades!"

This happens to be a talisman that I have for my own personal use.  I was curious about the inscription, and so this is one that I've translated:

"Gold of the Sun"

Silver of the Moon

As things are, to this place, come hither!"

 "To Walk in the Way of Truth"

 Upon one face, an eye rayed as the Sun.  Upon the reverse, these words:

"Sic ambulo

In vias

Veritatis"

 "To Inspire Passion"

Upon one face, a triangle of three equal sides, two of which point downward.  Within its center, a spiral, and growing from its upper side, three flames.  Upon the reverse, these words:

 "For Safety in Travel"

Upon one face, a double triangle, set vertically point to point, and behind it curled waters of the sea.  Upon the reverse, these words:

"Zuab

Garin

Sila"

This is another of Valerie's talismans that I have created for my own personal use.  For years, this talisman has been placed in our vehicles.  In my large SUV there are three of these stones-- one beneath each of the three seats.

Upon one face, a half-circle set horizontally, from which rises a triangle, upon which lies the crescent Moon on its back throwing forth three flames.  Upon the reverse, these words:
